Itinerary
Depart Hanoi aboard the Dream Train Express, a comfortable tourist train offering air-conditioned 4-berth cabins. Relax as you travel overnight to Lao Cai, saving daytime hours for exploration.

If you do not like to travel by sleeper train, we can offer the following alternative options.
1. VIP sleeper bus.
2. Limousine bus by day time + 1 night extra in Sapa.
3. Private transfer.
The bunk berths are pretty comfortable, but if you’re over 6 foot (1.83cm) you won’t be able to fully stretch out, if you are over 6 foot or (1.85cm) you might pull your legs a bit, however the ride is comfortable but it can be noisy of the train track is a bit bumpy ride.
If you like to have a snack during the night, it is best to bring your own.
Visit a Vibrant Local Market
Upon arrival at Lao Cai station, you’ll be greeted and transferred to Sapa for breakfast before exploring a local ethnic minority market. Your destination depends on the day of your arrival:
- Bac Ha Market (Sunday): The largest and most colorful market in the region, famous for its Flower H’mong vendors and livestock trading.
- Can Cau Market (Saturday): Nestled near the Chinese border, this smaller market showcases Dao Tuyen, Phu La, and Flower H’mong cultures.
- Coc Ly Market (Tuesday): Set beside the Chay River, this market is known for trading buffaloes and horses amidst picturesque surroundings.
- Muong Hum Market (Sunday): A lesser-visited gem, rich in authentic interactions with ethnic groups like Black H’mong, Zay, and Ha Nhi.

Start your trek from Sapa to Lao Chai village, home to the Black H’mong community. Walk along scenic trails and learn about daily village life. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a picturesque spot.
Continue to Ta Van, the only village of the Zay people. Spend the evening with your Zay hosts in their homestay, sharing a traditional meal and learning about their culture.

Enjoy breakfast at the homestay before exploring more of Ta Van Village. Continue trekking through the valley, taking in stunning views and interacting with locals. After a picnic lunch, trek uphill to meet your transfer back to Sapa.
