Itinerary

Your day begins at 7:30 AM with pickup from your hotel in Ba Be or a meet-up at Mr Linh’s Adventures office in Bo Lu village. Here you’ll meet your local guide and get equipped for the day with kayaks, dry bags, and life jackets. Before heading out, your guide will show you the basics of kayaking so you’re confident on the water.

Paddle out across the calm waters of Ba Be Lake, passing limestone cliffs, forested islands, and peaceful shorelines. This is the best way to take in the natural beauty of Ba Be National Park — quiet, slow-paced, and immersive. You'll navigate past Widow Island and continue down the Nang River, with chances to spot birds, butterflies, and maybe even water buffalo on the banks.

Late morning :
Dau Dang Waterfall

Continue paddling down the river to reach Dau Dang Waterfall, where the water tumbles through a narrow gorge between two rocky cliffs. It’s a scenic and peaceful stop where you can relax for a bit before heading to lunch.

Stop at a small local village along the river for a home-cooked lunch prepared by a Tay ethnic family. Expect simple but delicious Vietnamese food made with local ingredients. It’s a great chance to take a break and get a taste of rural life in northern Vietnam.

Lunch

After lunch, you’ll return to Ba Be Lake either by motorboat or canoe — depending on the weather and group preference. The return journey offers new angles of the lake and more time to soak in the atmosphere. If you feel like cooling off, there’s time for a swim.

Before wrapping up the day, you’ll visit An Ma Temple — a small but meaningful spiritual site for the Tay people. Afterward, take a short trek through the jungle to reach an elevated viewpoint. From here, you’ll get one last stunning panoramic view over Ba Be Lake before heading back.

Your guide will escort you back to your hotel or the starting point in Bo Lu. The tour finishes in the late afternoon.
