About the Golden Bridge Vietnam
The Golden Bridge (Cầu Vàng) is a 150-meter-long pedestrian walkway that appears to be held up by two massive, weathered stone hands emerging from the hillside. Suspended at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, it offers sweeping views of the lush Ba Na Hills landscape and distant coastline.
Located inside the Sun World Ba Na Hills resort, about 35 kilometers west of Da Nang, the bridge is part of a larger mountaintop theme park filled with gardens, pagodas, and European-style architecture.
It was designed by TA Landscape Architecture and opened to the public in June 2018. The two giant hands are meant to represent the hands of a mountain god, lifting a golden thread — the bridge — through the clouds. Its dramatic look and high-altitude setting quickly made it a viral hit on social media, especially on Instagram, and a bucket-list stop for travelers to Central Vietnam.
Where Is the Golden Hand Bridge?
The Golden Bridge is located on Ba Na Hills, roughly 30–35 kilometers west of Da Nang’s city center. It’s not a public site you can walk or drive directly to — the only way to reach it is by taking the cable car inside Sun World Ba Na Hills.
What is Ba Na Hills?
Ba Na Hills is a hilltop theme park and resort complex operated by Sun World, sitting at an altitude of around 1,400 meters. It’s known for its surreal mix of attractions, including:
- A French-style village
- Fantasy Park (with rides and games)
- Gardens, pagodas, and wine cellars
- And several record-breaking cable car lines
The Golden Bridge is one of the first sights you’ll come across after riding the main cable car to the top — making it a popular stop at the beginning of most visits.

How to get there
Visiting the Golden Bridge involves three steps: getting to Da Nang, reaching the Ba Na Hills entrance, and taking the cable car to the bridge itself.
Step 1: Getting to Da Nang
The Golden Bridge is located at Ba Na Hills, a mountaintop complex west of Da Nang — the nearest major city. Da Nang itself is a well-developed and popular coastal city with great beaches, resorts, and lots of tourist facilities.
Getting to Da Nang is easy:
- By Plane: Da Nang has an international airport with direct flights from regional hubs like Bangkok, Singapore, Seoul, and Kuala Lumpur. There are also frequent domestic flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (about 1.5 hours).
- By Train: Da Nang lies on Vietnam’s North–South railway line, with direct connections to cities like Hue, Nha Trang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.
- By Bus: Long-distance buses and limousines connect Da Nang with other cities. It’s also accessible by car or shuttle from Hoi An, another major tourist destination just 45 minutes to 1 hour away.
Step 2: From Da Nang to Ba Na Hills
Ba Na Hills is located about 30–35 km outside of Da Nang, in a cooler, forested mountain area. Here’s how you can get there:
- By Private Car or Taxi: The most convenient option. A round trip costs about 600,000 VND (~$25 USD). Taxis may charge more, especially if they wait.
- By Shuttle Bus: A good budget-friendly choice. Buses run in the morning and return in the afternoon. A round trip usually costs 120,000–150,000 VND. You can book through your hotel or a local travel agent.
- By Motorbike: For confident riders, the road is in good condition and takes about 45 minutes. Rental costs range from 80,000–150,000 VND per day. Be sure to have a valid license and travel insurance.
Step 3: From Ba Na Hills Entrance to Golden Bridge
Once you arrive at the Ba Na Hills entrance, you’ll need to purchase a ticket for the cable car (included in the park’s entrance fee).
Take the cable car from Hoi An Station to Marseille Station — this is the stop closest to the Golden Bridge. The ride is smooth and scenic, taking about 20 minutes, and offers amazing views of the surrounding forest.

Is the Golden Hand Bridge worth visiting?
The Golden Hand Bridge is not a standalone attraction — it’s part of the larger Sun World Ba Na Hills complex, so you’ll need to pay the full entrance fee, even if you’re only interested in the bridge.
It’s undeniably unique, both in design and setting — the two giant stone-like hands holding the golden walkway create one of the most iconic photo spots in Vietnam. That said, it often gets crowded and is frequently covered in mist or clouds, especially in the morning or during the rainy season, which can limit the views.
If you’re looking for local culture or a quiet, authentic spot, this isn’t it. But if you’re into creative architecture, love photo opportunities, or are traveling with kids, the full experience of Ba Na Hills — including the bridge — can definitely be worth it.
Just manage your expectations: it’s visually stunning, but very much part of a theme park-style setting.
Tips for visiting Vietnam’s Golden Bridge
To make the most of your visit to the Golden Bridge, a bit of planning goes a long way. These practical tips will help you avoid crowds, stay comfortable, and enjoy the experience more.
Check the weather forecast
Clear skies offer the best views, but weather in the mountains is unpredictable. Even if Da Nang is sunny, the Golden Bridge can be cloudy or fully covered in mist.
Best time to avoid crowds
Try to arrive before 9:30 AM. Early morning not only avoids the biggest crowds but also offers better light for photography.
Quickest cable car to the Golden Bridge
Use the Hoi An Station cable car line. It’s the most direct route to Marseille Station, the closest stop to the bridge.
No need to stay overnight
There is a hotel inside Ba Na Hills, but once the day visitors leave, there’s little to do. You’ll have the bridge nearly to yourself — but the atmosphere at night is quiet and isolated.
Bring essentials
Weather at Ba Na Hills is cooler than Da Nang. Pack a light jacket, umbrella, and comfortable shoes — it’s a big complex with lots of walking.
Plan for a full day
Expect to spend at least 6 hours exploring the bridge and the rest of Ba Na Hills. It’s more than just a quick photo stop.
Purchase tickets in advance
Save time by buying your tickets online or through your hotel. Ticket lines can get long, especially during peak season.
Explore other attractions
Besides the bridge, Ba Na Hills has the French Village, Fantasy Park, gardens, and the Linh Ung Pagoda — worth checking out while you’re there.
Don’t expect to spend long at the bridge
The bridge itself is quite short — 15 to 30 minutes is usually enough unless you’re staying for photos.
Bring water and sunscreen
It can be hot at the top, especially during summer. Food and drinks inside are overpriced, so bringing your own saves both time and money.
Avoid weekends and holidays
These are the busiest days. Expect longer waits for cable cars and big crowds at popular spots.
