Da Nang – The city of bridges
With over 10 bridges crossing the Han River, Da Nang has earned its nickname as the “City of Bridges” — and it lives up to the name. These aren’t just structures for traffic; Da Nang bridges light up the skyline, host fire-breathing shows, and turn a simple riverfront walk into something memorable. Whether you’re watching the Dragon Bridge glow at night or crossing a modern cable-stayed giant, the city’s energy is woven right into its bridges.
1. Golden Bridge (Ba Na Hills)
This is the most iconic of all Da Nang bridges — even if it’s not in the city center. The Golden Bridge sits high in the mountains of Ba Na Hills, held up by two giant stone hands that look like ancient ruins. To get there, you’ll need to take a cable car (ticket required), but the views, cool mountain air, and surreal design make it one of the most unforgettable sights near Da Nang.
2. Dragon Bridge (Cau Rong)
Dragon Bridge is the most famous bridge in Da Nang’s city center — and it lives up to the hype. Shaped like a golden dragon, it breathes real fire and water every weekend at 9 PM, drawing crowds to the riverside. It’s best enjoyed at night from a nearby cafe, riverside park, or even on a boat cruise, and it’s easy to combine with a walk along Bach Dang street or a stop at the Cham Museum nearby.
3. Han River Bridge (Cau Sông Hàn)
The Han River Bridge is a point of pride for Da Nang — it was Vietnam’s first swing bridge and completely designed by local engineers. Late at night on weekends, it slowly rotates to let ships pass, a reminder of the city’s connection to the river. If you’re out late, it’s a unique sight to catch, and even during the day, it’s a great photo spot with views of the skyline and nearby bridges.
4. Love Bridge (Cau Tình Yêu)
Just a short walk from Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge is a small pedestrian pier with a romantic twist. Couples come here to take photos, hang love locks, and enjoy sunset views over the river. It’s a laid-back stop surrounded by cafes, food stalls, and the APEC Park sculpture garden — a nice place to pause during your riverside walk.
5. Tran Thi Ly Bridge
Tran Thi Ly Bridge stands out with its tilted pylon and sail-like design, making it one of the most striking bridges in Da Nang. At night, it lights up in shifting colors, offering great views of the Dragon Bridge and the city skyline. If you’re into photography or just want a different perspective on the river, this bridge is worth a stop.
6. Thuan Phuoc Bridge
Stretching out toward the sea, Thuan Phuoc Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in Da Nang and marks the gateway to the Son Tra Peninsula. It’s less visited by tourists, but that’s part of the appeal — it’s quiet, scenic, and perfect for catching sunrise or linking up with coastal routes. If you’re heading toward Son Tra or just want a peaceful view over the bay, this bridge is a great detour.
7. Nguyen Van Troi Bridge
Built in 1965, Nguyen Van Troi Bridge is the oldest bridge in Da Nang and a quiet contrast to the city’s newer landmarks. It’s closed to traffic now, making it a relaxed spot for walking or cycling with open views of the river. From here, you get a great perspective of the nearby Dragon and Tran Thi Ly bridges — especially beautiful at sunset.

Tips for Exploring Da Nang Bridges
Go in the evening for the best views
Most bridges light up after dark, and the riverside gets livelier with cafes, street food, and people out walking. Nighttime is also when Dragon Bridge puts on its fire and water show.
Combine bridges with other sights
Several bridges are close to museums, parks, and riverfront cafes. You can easily turn a walk into a full evening out — especially between Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge, and Love Bridge.
Plan ahead for the Golden Bridge
Unlike the others, the Golden Bridge is outside the city in Ba Na Hills. You’ll need to buy a cable car ticket and set aside at least half a day to visit — but the scenery makes it worth the effort.
