What is Nhot Village like?
Nhot Village is a White Thai ethnic village made up mostly of traditional wooden stilt houses. It’s smaller and quieter than Lac Village, with a more lived-in feel — daily life takes priority over tourism here. Many houses serve as simple family-run homestays, offering a glimpse into real village life. The surroundings include rice fields, gardens, and small workshops for weaving or farming. Since it borders Lac, some parts of Nhot feel like a natural extension of the more visited village.
Homestays in Nhot Village
Most accommodations in Nhot Village are traditional stilt-house homestays run by local Thai families. They’re typically simple but clean and comfortable, offering an authentic local experience. Rooms are usually private with shared or private bathrooms, and stays often include home-cooked meals.

While the area is more spread out than Lac, there’s still a wide range of homestays to choose from — some in quiet garden settings, others right by rice fields or small roads. You won’t find a central restaurant strip here, so most meals are served by your host. It’s a great way to try traditional dishes and enjoy relaxed evenings with the family or other travelers.

Things to do in Nhot Village
Nhot Village isn’t filled with organized attractions — the main draw is its everyday life. It’s a good place to slow down, observe, and take part in local routines.
1. Observe daily life

Nhot is a lived-in village where you’ll see real daily activities like rice farming, cooking over wood fires, and women weaving on looms. Nothing feels staged — just take a walk or bike ride and you’ll naturally encounter local scenes.
2. Handicrafts

Some families still produce brocade textiles or handwoven items. You won’t find rows of souvenir stalls, but you may come across small setups in front of homes where you can browse or buy directly. It’s more low-key than Lac Village, but the craft is just as authentic.
3. Join a family meal or traditional performance

Many homestays offer optional shared dinners and cultural shows in the evening. These often include local specialties and short performances like Thai dance or music. It’s not a big production — just something arranged by the host family or their neighbors, which adds to the charm.
