Itinerary

Welcome to Vietnam! Upon landing at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel in the historic Old Quarter. After check-in and some time to relax, your evening kicks off with a guided Hanoi street food and Train Street tour, where you’ll taste your way through bustling markets and local favorites like pho (noodle soup), banh cuon (steamed rolled rice pancake), bun cha, egg coffee, and more. This is the perfect introduction to Vietnamese culture and flavors.

Dinner

Today you’ll join a guided group tour to Ninh Binh, a province known for its mix of history and stunning landscapes. Explore Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient royal capital, before heading to Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Glide by rowboat through its cave-studded waterways, used as a filming location for Kong: Skull Island. After a local lunch, hop on a bike for a ride through peaceful villages and end the day climbing to the top of Mua Cave for panoramic views of Tam Coc’s limestone peaks and rivers.

Breakfast, Lunch

Depart early for Lan Ha Bay, a lesser-known and quieter neighbor of Halong Bay. After arriving at Cai Beo Port, you’ll board a boutique cruise and enjoy lunch as you sail past dramatic limestone formations. Spend the afternoon kayaking in calm waters or relaxing on a secluded beach. In the evening, join a fun Vietnamese cooking demonstration before enjoying dinner under the stars aboard your cruise.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Start the day with a peaceful Tai Chi session on deck, followed by breakfast. Then head to Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island for a cycling tour through its lush greenery and quiet rural charm. After returning to the boat and having lunch, disembark and travel back to Hanoi for your short domestic flight to Da Nang. From there, you’ll be driven to your hotel in the heart of Hoi An.

Breakfast, Lunch

Discover the rural charm of Hoi An on a countryside cycling tour. Ride through quiet village paths and rice paddies on Cam Kim Island, see how wooden boats are made, and meet local farmers. Cross the river by boat to Cam Thanh Coconut Forest, where you can try paddling a traditional basket boat through leafy canals. The ride finishes with a peaceful route back into town.

Breakfast, Lunch

Travel back in time with a visit to My Son Sanctuary, the spiritual heart of the ancient Champa Kingdom, filled with Hindu temples and towers dating back over 1,000 years. After exploring the site, you’ll stop at a local house to learn how to make traditional rice paper. End the day with a scenic Thu Bon River cruise back to Hoi An.

Breakfast

You’ll be transferred to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Hanoi, where you’ll connect to your international departure.
Suggestion for free time before the flight: enjoy a final stroll through Hoi An’s ancient town or relax on An Bang Beach.

FAQ

The best alignment for both regions is February– May. North Vietnam has comfortable sightseeing weather, and Hoi An enjoys mostly dry conditions. However, October–November are not recommended for Hoi An, as heavy rain and flooding can occur. During these months, it’s better to focus on the North only and skip Central Vietnam.
Not realistically without removing an entire destination. Adding Sapa would require dropping Cat Ba/Lan Ha Bay or Hoi An completely. Even then, we don’t recommend it—Sapa involves long travel times, and squeezing it into a 7-day plan makes the itinerary rushed rather than enjoyable.
The full itinerary is designed as a private tour for your travel group. Some specific elements—like the Ninh Binh day tour—can be in small group format depending on your preferences and budget. If you prefer everything fully private, we can arrange it.
Yes, this tour includes two domestic flights (Da Nang → Hanoi and Hanoi → your international connection). International flights are not included.
Absolutely. The included cruise is carefully selected based on years of guest feedback, but if you prefer a different level or style—luxury, boutique, or budget—we can upgrade or swap it.
It’s possible, but this tour involves a lot of travel within one week. It’s mainly designed for travelers with limited time who want to see as much as possible. For seniors or families with young children, this pace may feel too rushed. We can help adjust or slow down the itinerary if needed.
