Itinerary

You’ll be picked up at 7:30 AM to begin the journey by boat across Ba Be Lake. After about two hours soaking in views of limestone cliffs and calm waters, you’ll continue onto the Nang River — a peaceful route through remote forested valleys and towering peaks.

Late Morning :
Explore Puong Cave

As the boat follows the river, you’ll reach Puong Cave — a massive cavern carved into the base of Lung Nham Mountain. It’s over 300 meters long and 30 meters high, filled with dramatic rock formations and home to 18 species of bats.

After visiting the cave, lace up for a 7–10 km jungle trek along forest trails in Ba Be National Park. The hike takes you deep into the greenery, crossing small streams and gradually climbing into more remote terrain. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your first homestay with a Dzao ethnic family — a peaceful place to relax and enjoy a home-cooked dinner.

Dinner, Lunch

Fuel up with breakfast, then start your longest trekking day — covering 12–15 km through mountains, forest, and quiet valleys. Today’s hike offers a deep look into life in northern Vietnam’s highlands.

Breakfast

Along the route, you’ll pass through H’Mong and Dzao villages like Khau Qua and Nam Dai. The locals still live in traditional wooden houses, farm the land, and maintain a slower rhythm of life. Expect warm smiles and insights into their culture.

Lunch

Your trek ends in Coc Toc, a Tay minority village on the edge of Ba Be Lake. You’ll spend the night in a traditional stilt house — simple but comfortable, and a great way to experience Tay hospitality firsthand.

Dinner

After breakfast, set off for Hua Ma Cave — once feared by locals due to ghostly legends, it’s now open to travelers. You’ll enter a vast chamber of sharp stalactites and ancient formations, surrounded by quiet, echoing stillness.

Breakfast

Next, head to Tham Phay Cave — a hidden gem newly explored by adventurers. It’s accessed via a narrow jungle path and small opening. Inside, you’ll find untouched rock formations, underground streams, and a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. A guide and full safety gear are provided for this 5 km expedition.

Lunch

After the caving adventure, you’ll be welcomed back at Ba Be headquarters. Take a well-earned rest or grab a final look at the lake before the tour ends.
