Itinerary
Your Hanoi cooking class begins with a hotel pick-up in the Old Quarter, followed by a warm welcome at the cooking venue. Enjoy a local drink such as tea or coffee while meeting the chef and fellow participants. The chef will explain the format and help the group choose a personalized menu to cook together.
The chef will introduce you to Vietnamese cuisine and explain the format of the class. Together, the group will choose three dishes to prepare—two of your choice and one recommended by the chef. (See full menu options in the Tour Information below.)
Traditional Vietnamese Dishes (meat & fish options):
- Bún Chả – Grilled pork belly served with rice noodles, dipping sauce, and fresh herbs
- Phở Bò Hà Nội – Hanoi-style beef noodle soup
- Phở Gà Hà Nội – Hanoi-style chicken noodle soup
- Nem Rán Hà Nội – Crispy spring rolls with minced pork
- Phở Cuốn Hà Nội – Fresh noodle rolls with beef and herbs
- Nộm Gà Hoa Chuối – Banana flower salad with chicken
- Gà Xào Sả Ớt – Lemongrass and chili sautéed chicken with steamed rice
- Phở Chiên Phồng Bò – Deep-fried noodles topped with sautéed beef and bok choy

Before heading to the market, you'll learn a few simple Vietnamese phrases—enough to greet locals and ask about prices. It’s a fun and useful way to connect with market vendors during the tour.
Back in the kitchen, your hands-on Hanoi cooking class begins. Under the guidance you’ll prepare typical Vietnamese food. Follow step-by-step instructions from the chef as you prepare three Vietnamese dishes. You’ll also learn how to make a unique Vietnamese drink—either egg coffee or egg beer, both specialties of Hanoi.
At the end of the class, you’ll receive a personalized certificate as a fun keepsake. You’ll then be dropped off back at your hotel in the Old Quarter, with a full belly and new skills to take home.

- This cooking class is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to those with prior cooking experience. The activity involves basic cooking techniques, shopping at a local market, and preparing three dishes with expert guidance.
- No prior cooking experience is required for this tour. Whether you’re a first-time cook or a seasoned chef, the class is designed to be fun and educational for everyone.
- All necessary equipment for cooking, including cooking utensils and ingredients, will be provided. For your convenience and safety, the tour also includes transportation via walking or motorbike, depending on your location in Hanoi Old Quarter.
No prior cooking experience is required! The class is designed for beginners, and the chef will guide you step by step through the cooking process.
Just bring your enthusiasm and an appetite! We’ll provide all the ingredients and cooking equipment you need for the class.
If you have any food allergies, please inform us in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and adjust the ingredients accordingly.
The class lasts between 3 to 3.5 hours, depending on the size of the group and the dishes being prepared.
