Itinerary

You’ll leave Hanoi around 6:30 AM in a comfortable limousine bus heading north to Ha Giang. It’s a long but scenic ride, passing rivers, hills, and rural towns — a good chance to watch Vietnam’s northern countryside unfold. In Ha Giang City, you’ll meet your local guide and continue by car into the mountains of Hoang Su Phi.

Mid-afternoon, arrive in a peaceful Tay ethnic village in Thong Nguyen. Settle into a traditional stilt house homestay, stretch your legs with a short walk (3–5 km trekking) around the village, and soak in your first views of the rice terraces.

Lunch

Enjoy a home-cooked meal with your host family. It’s a cozy and friendly start to your journey.

Dinner
Homestay

After breakfast, lace up your shoes and start your full-day trek. You’ll walk through layers of terraced rice fields, small trails through the forest, and ethnic minority villages surrounded by misty peaks.

Breakfast

Stop at a remote family home for lunch — a chance to rest and get a taste of mountain life and cuisine.

Lunch

The trek continues deeper into the mountains, where you may meet people from ethnic groups such as the Red Dao, Black Dao, and Tay, all with distinct clothing and customs. Return to your host family’s home in the late afternoon.

Relax and enjoy another home-cooked meal.

Dinner
Homestay

After breakfast, say goodbye to your hosts and drive towards the Dong Van Karst Plateau. As you gain elevation, the scenery gets more dramatic, with limestone mountains and winding roads.

Breakfast

Stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the road. There are plenty of photo stops along the way — expect views of deep valleys and forested hills.

Lunch

Arrive at Quan Ba and stop at Heaven Gate — a scenic viewpoint at the top of a mountain pass. Then walk down to Nam Dam, a Dao ethnic village where you’ll spend the night in another welcoming homestay.

Wander around the village and spend time with locals to learn more about Dao traditions.

Dinner
Homestay

After breakfast, head deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau. The road winds through jagged limestone peaks — one of the most dramatic drives in Vietnam.

Breakfast, Lunch

Make a stop at Pho Bang, a quiet town with old clay houses and traces of colonial influence.

Continue to Lung Cam to see traditional H’mong houses and get a glimpse into daily life in this highland region.

Visit the historical Vuong family house — a well-preserved mansion that once belonged to a powerful H’mong leader. It's a striking mix of local and Chinese-style architecture.

Check into your hotel in Dong Van town, and enjoy a relaxed evening in the small but lively town center.

Dinner
Hotel

Start your day with a scenic trek to Thien Huong, a small village known for its traditional stone houses and surrounding farmlands. This peaceful place is a great spot to see rural life up close.

Breakfast

Return from the trek and have lunch at a local restaurant before driving toward Meo Vac.

Lunch

Drive along the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass — one of the most stunning mountain roads in Vietnam. Stop for photos before arriving in Meo Vac. Check in to your hotel and take a break.

If time allows, visit a nearby H’mong village to round out the day with one more cultural stop.

Dinner
Homestay

If your visit falls on a Sunday, you’ll get to explore Meo Vac’s lively weekly market — a colorful mix of local products, ethnic clothing, and mountain produce.

Breakfast

Stop in Lung Tam village on the way back, where H’mong women make handwoven hemp textiles. It’s a great place to learn about traditional techniques — and shop directly from the source.

Lunch

Enjoy your final lunch en route before arriving back in Ha Giang around 5:00 PM.
