Itinerary

Make your own way (or add-on transfer) from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be. At the harbor, you'll board a boat for a scenic ride into the Mekong Delta. The journey takes you along quiet waterways to the peaceful setting of Mekong Lodge, where you’ll check in to your private riverside bungalow.

Lunch

After lunch at the lodge’s riverside restaurant, hop on a bicycle for a relaxed ride through the Delta’s backroads. You'll pass lush fruit orchards, stilt houses, and canals lined with coconut palms. Stop by small handicraft workshops where locals make hammocks from banana leaves and weave mats and baskets from water hyacinth and coconut leaves.

Return to the water for a gentle sampan boat ride through narrow canals. Later, back at the lodge, join a casual cooking demonstration to learn the basics of Vietnamese home-style cooking — a fun, hands-on way to end the day.

Dinner is served at the lodge restaurant, with a mix of regional dishes. If you’re in the mood, head to the riverside bar afterward, which stays open until midnight for a quiet drink under the stars.

Dinner

After breakfast, board a boat to explore the Cai Be Floating Market — a smaller and more local market compared to others in the region. While it’s quieter these days, it still offers insight into how river trade once shaped daily life.

Breakfast

Continue by boat to nearby villages known for traditional crafts. See how locals produce rice paper, coconut candy, and other handmade goods before heading back to Mekong Lodge.

Return to the lodge, settle your bill, and check out around 11:30 AM. A short boat ride will take you back to Cai Be harbor by noon. From there, you can head back to Ho Chi Minh City by bus or private car.
