Itinerary
Between 7:45 and 8:00 AM, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Dong Hoi. If you’re staying in Phong Nha, pick-up is slightly later. After a scenic drive into the national park, you’ll arrive at your first stop: Paradise Cave.

Explore Paradise Cave
Your day begins with a visit to Paradise Cave, a massive dry cave located deep inside Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park. After a short walk to the entrance, you’ll descend into a dramatic underground world of towering rock formations, giant caverns, and otherworldly shapes lit by soft lighting. Paradise Cave stretches over 30 kilometers, but you'll explore about 1 kilometer on foot along a wooden walkway.

After your cave walk, enjoy a Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant in Phong Nha village. It’s a great chance to relax, refuel, and take in the peaceful countryside before your next cave visit.

Boat trip to Phong Nha Cave
In the afternoon, hop on a boat for a peaceful ride along the Son River. You’ll pass rice fields, local homes, and limestone hills before reaching Phong Nha Cave — one of the most famous water caves in Vietnam. The boat glides directly into the cave, where you’ll explore around 1.5 kilometers of chambers filled with impressive stalactites and formations like the “Fairy Caves” and “Royal Court.”
After exploring the cave, you’ll head back by boat and vehicle. Expect to be dropped off at your hotel between 5:00 and 5:30 PM, with plenty of photos and cave stories to bring home.

How much walking is required inside the caves?
Paradise Cave involves about 1 km of walking on stairs and wooden walkways. Phong Nha Cave is mostly explored by boat, with only a short walk inside. If you have limited mobility, let us know in advance so we can advise accordingly.
Can I do this tour if I’m traveling with young children?
Yes, the tour is family-friendly. Both caves are safe and interesting for children, though some parts of Paradise Cave involve stairs. We recommend keeping an eye on younger kids due to slippery surfaces.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour still operates in light or moderate rain. The caves are sheltered and unaffected by weather. In rare cases of heavy rain or flooding, we’ll contact you with updates or alternative options.
Can I be dropped off in Phong Nha instead of returning to Dong Hoi?
Yes, you can end the tour in Phong Nha if it suits your travel plans better. Just let us know when booking so we can arrange accordingly.
Are there restrooms at the caves?
Yes, restrooms are available at both Paradise Cave and the Phong Nha boat station. We recommend using them before entering the caves.
What is the difference between Phong Nha and Paradise Cave?
Paradise Cave is a dry cave with wide chambers and high ceilings — ideal for walking and photography. Phong Nha is a water cave, reached by boat, with more dramatic stalactite formations and a mystical atmosphere.
Do I need a flashlight or special gear for the caves?
No special gear is needed. The caves have lighting and safe walkways. Just wear comfortable shoes with good grip and bring a light jacket if you’re sensitive to cooler air inside.
