Day 01 :
Arrival in Hanoi & Street Food Tour
Arrive in Hanoi, where our driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel in the Old Quarter. You’ll have time to relax before joining a guided street food tour in the evening. Explore hidden alleys and local stalls to sample authentic Hanoi dishes like pho, bun cha, and egg coffee. It’s the perfect way to dive into Vietnam’s culture through its rich flavors and bustling street life.

Spend your day exploring Hanoi at your own pace - visit the Old Quarter, museums, or simply relax at a café. After a late hotel checkout, you’ll be picked up for the overnight train to Sapa. Day 03 :
Sapa Trekking – Y Linh Ho to Ta Van
Arrive early in Lao Cai and transfer to Sapa for breakfast and luggage storage. Begin a scenic 15 km trek through Cat Cat, Y Linh Ho, and Lao Chai villages, surrounded by rice terraces and mountain views. Stop for lunch at a Hmong-run local eatery before continuing to Ta Van Village. Overnight at a family-run homestay, with a warm dinner and optional cooking activity included.

You’ll reach Ban Gioc in the late afternoon and settle into your peaceful homestay.

Ninh Binh Free Time or Optional Tour
Today is yours to relax and explore the peaceful countryside of Ninh Binh at your own pace. The homestays provide free bicycles, making it easy to cycle to nearby highlights like Tam Coc, rice paddies, and local temples. For those interested, you can join a full-day group tour visiting the ancient capital Hoa Lu, the stunning Trang An river complex, and Mua Cave for a panoramic view over the valley. It’s a great way to experience the region’s mix of history, nature, and culture. Return to your homestay in the evening and enjoy dinner on your own.

In the evening, transfer to the train station to catch the overnight sleeper train to Dong Hoi. You’ll be riding the Lotus Express in a 4-berth air-conditioned cabin, a simple but unique Vietnamese experience. Though space is limited, the ride is comfortable and part of the adventure.

Arriving early in Dong Hoi, you’ll be taken to Jungle Boss HQ for breakfast and a trek briefing. After a short drive, begin your jungle hike to Elephant Cave and explore its vast chambers. Continue on to Ma Da Lake, where you'll enjoy a BBQ lunch and swim in the crystal-clear water surrounded by untouched nature. Spend the night camping deep in the jungle, with dinner cooked by your local guide. It’s an adventurous, off-the-grid experience in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

Day 18 :
Tra Ang Cave – Return to Phong Nha
Wake up to the sounds of the forest and begin the second day of trekking through the jungle. You’ll visit Tra Ang Cave and, if you choose, swim 600 meters inside its dark, magical tunnel. After a picnic lunch, trek back toward the main road and enjoy a cool drink before heading back to Phong Nha town. Your gear will be returned, and you’ll check into your hotel for a hot shower and a relaxing evening.

Depart Phong Nha in the morning and travel south to explore Quang Tri’s wartime history. Visit the incredible Vinh Moc Tunnels where hundreds lived underground during U.S. bombings. After lunch, continue to the historic Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, once the dividing line between North and South Vietnam. You'll also visit La Vang Holy Land, a significant Catholic pilgrimage site. Arrive in Hue in the evening and check in to your hotel.

Day 20 :
Hue City Tour
Today’s full-day tour takes you through the cultural treasures of Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital. Start with a boat ride to Thien Mu Pagoda, followed by a visit to the vast Imperial Citadel. After lunch at a local restaurant, explore the ornate tombs of emperors Minh Mang and Khai Dinh. End the day visiting villages that produce incense and the iconic conical hats. Return to your hotel in Hue by late afternoon.

In the evening, a driver will transfer you to Da Nang train station to catch your overnight sleeper train to Nha Trang. You’ll travel in a 4-berth air-conditioned cabin with bedding provided. It’s a bumpy but charming ride through the heart of Vietnam.

Arrival in Nha Trang – Free Time
Wake up as the train pulls into sunny Nha Trang around 9:00 AM. A car will transfer you to your hotel, where you can relax or head out to explore the beach town. While hotel check-in is at 2:00 PM, you’re free to drop your bags and begin enjoying the coast. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the sea or visiting a local mud bath spa to unwind after your journey.

Easy Rider from Nha Trang to Da Lat
This morning, your Easy Rider guide will pick you up by motorbike for a scenic ride through the Central Highlands to Da Lat. Stop at Long Son Pagoda, then cruise through lush countryside dotted with pepper and sugar plantations. Visit a Raglai ethnic minority village and enjoy a local lunch on the way. The journey winds through mountain passes, coffee farms, and scenic valleys before ending in Da Lat. One of the final highlights is Linh Phuoc Pagoda, a unique temple made of mosaic tiles.

On your final day, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to Tan Son Nhat International Airport. How adventurous is this 4-week Vietnam tour?
This itinerary is designed for adventure, but the level is flexible. We can adjust the trekking to your preference — from easy village walks to moderate or harder mountain routes. Road trips, such as Ha Giang or the coastal ride from Hue to Hoi An, can be done in the comfort of a private car or on the back of an Easy Rider motorbike for a more adventurous experience. You decide how “extreme” you want the month to be.
What is included in this “Ultimate Adventure” package?
All activities, transfers, accommodation, and meals listed in the itinerary are included. You can also check the “What’s Included” section on this page for a detailed breakdown. There are no domestic flights in this itinerary, and international flights are not included. These can be booked independently, or we can advise you on suitable options.
Can I do this tour as a solo traveler?
Yes. Solo travel is possible and safe. Pricing is higher when traveling alone, but many parts of the trip can be optimized — for example, choosing Easy Rider motorbike transport instead of a private car. If the solo price is above your budget, contact us, and we can look at options to include more join-in transfers or group activities while still keeping most of the itinerary private.
What is the best time of year to do this 4-week adventure?
The best overall period for this full-month adventure is February to September, when North, Central, and South Vietnam all offer good conditions.
- October–November: less suitable because Central Vietnam can experience heavy rain and flooding.
- December–January: possible too, with cooler weather in the North and dry conditions in the South.
We can always adjust the route based on seasonal changes to keep the adventure enjoyable.
Can I drive a motorbike myself on the Easy Rider sections?
In general, we operate Easy Rider services — meaning you ride on the back with a licensed local driver. If you want to drive yourself, you must hold a valid motorbike license from your home country plus the correct International Driving Permit (the 1968 convention IDP). If you meet all legal requirements and have riding experience, we can arrange a self-drive setup with a guide riding ahead and assisting you along the route.
How difficult are the trekking and camping days in Phong Nha?
The trekking in Sapa is moderate. Phong Nha is a bit more demanding — real jungle trekking with uneven trails, climbing over rocks, and occasional swimming sections depending on the route. It’s not extreme, and most travelers with average fitness can do it. Your local guide adjusts the pace, and all equipment and safety gear are provided for the camping section.
